Question by Angel D: Please please please assist me determine which character to cosplay?
It would be my initial time cosplaying and I can not genuinely make costumes. So maybe I must wear a basic costume. Isn’t it frowned upon if you buy a costume rather than make it? (this is an aside question that you don’t have to answer – but how would I go about creating a costume when I have no sewing capacity?!)
I sort of want to be Rikku (FFX-two) but I do not think I have the proper look. I am 5ft 10 (or 11) and very pale. It may well also be cool to either be Terra or Celes from Final Fantasy 6. But their costumes are really complex. An old buddy of mine employed to say I’d make a great Lulu, once again from Final Fantasy. But there is no possibility in hell I’ll be able to make her costume.
Please could you appear at my pictures (I’ll post a couple because I don’t feel that photos truly appear like me, and I look quite different in every image) and say who you feel I might be in a position to cosplay?
I am into Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Pokemon (was thinking about Misty, Whitney or Claire), One Piece, Death Note, Baccano!, Digimon, Hellsing and Outlaw Star. If there are any other characters you feel I resemble then please let me know.

I assume Riku is a wonderful character for you (other than the hair lol) and easy to do. i would also consider Tifa from FFVII, also you could pull off Kairi from Kingdom Hearts genuinely nicely.

To be completely honest, you should pick a character that you really like. One that you’d be comfortable cosplaying as.
I can’t say who you may be able to cosplay, because you can cosplay as ANYONE you want. Noone can tell you that you shouldn’t cosplay a certain character. It’s your choice, afterall. And it’s about choosing a character you like, and feel comfortable portraying.
Unfortunately, you have to decide yourself what character you want to be, but here are some things to think about when cosplaying:
1. What character do I idolize?
2. What character can I really be, as in act the part?
3. Are you going to feel comfortable or on edge in the costume?
4. Is it going to be a summer or a winter con?
5. Are you shy or outgoing? Are you going to be embarrassed if someone takes your pic?
6. What is my body type?
7. Do I want to wear a wig all day or use my own hair?
These questions can pin point exactly what you want to be. And no, people do not look down on people that buy costumes. Since I don’t compete in competitions anymore, I buy my costumes just because I found it was cheaper than making my own, and I am a terrible seamstress…
But, have fun with it. There are thousands of characters you can be. Start of small, and if you like it, then go all out!!!
heh listen one thing that i do know is that it doesnt matter, be something you normaly wouldnt, something that would be fun to you, terra would work, cosplaying is when the world doesnt matter, its a chance to jus get away, i honestly like the first one out of the photos but yeah hf and gl
